Climb one of Spain’s most iconic towers and enjoy breathtaking views across Andalusia’s capital.
The Giralda is much more than a bell tower. Originally built as the minaret of Seville’s Great Mosque, it later became the cathedral’s bell tower while preserving much of its original Islamic architecture.
Unlike most towers, the Giralda does not require visitors to climb hundreds of stairs. Instead, a series of gently sloping ramps leads to the top, a design that once allowed riders on horseback to reach the upper levels.
At nearly 100 meters tall, the tower offers spectacular panoramic views over Seville’s rooftops, palaces and gardens. Reaching the summit is one of the highlights of any visit to the cathedral.
